Owners of Galaxy 22 Ultra owners with Exynos models report display issues.

Source: 9TO5GOOGLE

Owners of Galaxy S22 Ultra has revealed this issue with their smartphones on Reddit. They wrote in their posts they saw horizontal pixelated line when they ran videos and games in QHD mode.  This line did not appear when viewed contents on their smartphones.

Some users wrote that the line disappeared when they switched Galaxy S22 from QHD to FHD mode.

I exact cause of the issue still not care.  Whether it an hardware or software issue.

Sammobile opined that it could be a software issue because changing from FHD to QHD fixed the issue.  They expected a software fix soon.

9TO5GOOGLE suggested it could be a hardware issue.

is “Nightography” Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra specialty?

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, marketed on February 25, invites itself to our test bench. The opportunity to check if the smartphone, presented as a specialist in night photography or “Nightography” in the manufacturer’s jargon, is as comfortable in the dark as it promises.

Before getting to the heart of the matter, a material point. The Galaxy S22 Ultra stands alone in the S22 range, since it is the only smartphone of the trio to bet on a main sensor of 108 megapixels, flanked by a wide-angle lens (f / 1.8) and an optical stabilization system. When the S22 and S22+ rely on a 50-megapixel main module, the device is a continuation of its predecessor, the Galaxy S21 Ultra, which was among the best photophones of 2021.

Samsung evokes “Nightography”, that is to say night photography, as the main weapon of its device: it indicates that it has opted for a sensor with photosites 23% larger than those of the S21 Ultra. Logically, it is therefore capable of absorbing more light, and therefore of restoring more information. But, as everyone knows, the figures are not enough: the results delivered by the smartphone combine sensor quality, properties of the associated optics and software processing performance. A subtle cocktail whose recipe we tested in the laboratory.

Galaxy S22 : Power and Performance That Keep Up With Your Life

Smartphones have become an integral part of our personal and professional lives. We use it for personal things like photography, video making, and video chat, streaming our favorite movies and playing our favorite games.

The above-mentioned activities require us to smartphones with great processor power to provide us better performance in our work and play.

Samsung has provided the first-ever 4nm processor on Galaxy S22 and S22+ smartphones. This powerful processor smooth carries out all the most advanced AI and ML processing and gives us the unrivalled performance for our streaming and productivity needs.

4nm 64-bit Octa-Core Processor * 2.80GHz
(Maximum Clock Speed) + 2.5 GHz + 1.8GHz

4nm 64-bit Octa-Core Process * 2.99 GHz
(Maximum Clock Speed) + 2.4GHZ + 1.7 GHz

Processors will vary depending on country and carrier.

It is said that in India. Devices have been launched with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

The above-mentioned processors require a lot of power. Samsung has provided Galaxy S22 with 3700mAh(typical) battery and 25W fasting charging support. Galaxy S22+ comes with 4500 mAh(typical) battery with 45W fast charging support. It means you will not have to worry about battery drain.

Galaxy S22 and S22+’s comes with beautiful Dynamic AMOLED5 2X displays. It has been built and designed in such a way that you will enjoy your streaming and gaming.

New Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22+ Deliver Revolutionary Camera Experiences, Day and Night

Source : Samsung

Samsung promises that people can take best moments of their lives with pro-grade AI camera features which comes with Galaxy S series.

The company has recently launched two flagship smartphones S22 and S22+. Both these devices come with dynamic cameras with advanced intelligent image processing. These features will enable people to take stunning moments of their lives.

TM Roh, President and Head of Samsung Electronics’ MX (Mobile eXperience) Business called these devices with groundbreaking camera capabilities that work day and night, powered by our best mobile performance yet.

Samsung’s Most Intelligent Cameras with revolutionary new Nightography features

The Galaxy S22 series’ revolutionary new Nightography features comes with 23% larger sensor than earlier models like S21 and S21+. The good thing with the cameras are this they come with Adaptive Pixel technology.

The cameras have been designed in such a way that they let in more light , draw out details and capture stunning colors that make your pictures stand out in all lighting conditions including in darkness.

Samsung has given a powerful 50MP main camera, 10MP tele-lens, and 12MP ultra-wide lens in both the devices. Combination of these lenses will enable people to capture high quality shots.

Samsung has added a new feature for people who love make videos using their smartphones. This feature is called new Auto Framing2 feature.

This feature automatically detects and tracks up to 10 people and adjust camera’s focus according so you can take clear pictures.

Both these devices S22 and S22+ have advanced VDIS technology. This technology control vibration and lets you capture smooth and sharp footage while you are on the move.

Samsung’s latest AI technology makes it easy to take perfect Portrait mode photos with the new AI Stereo Depth Map. It captures photos with the smallest details. The new Portrait mode helps prevent pet hair from blending into the background, so you always get the best shot of your pet.

Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G – Fastest Smartphone in the market.

I tested the new Galaxy S21 FE and I can honestly admit that it is one of the fastest phones on the market. In this respect, I definitely rank it among the best flagship phones. The most important thing, however, is that it is a complete smartphone – it does not lack anything essential. Not only is it fast, it’s also nice, modern, takes very good photos, has an excellent display, works long enough on the battery, is not afraid of water.

This is one of the coolest premium models and I am sure that the vast majority of people will be very pleased with this purchase. Sure it’s not cheap, but… such times. Real impressions compensate for this expense – in terms of the quality of operation, the Galaxy S21 FE 5G is a top-shelf smartphone. A jewel in the crown of the Samsung ecosystem.

I test the Galaxy S21 FE in combination with the good Galaxy Watch4 LTE smartwatch and the TWS Galaxy Buds2 headphones. Let me tell you – this is how you can live! I sit in my armchair, browse social media and listen to Spotify music on my smartphone. When I want to go out for a bike, walk or train, I leave my phone at home, switch my headphones and Spotify to a smartwatch and listen to the playlist on.

There is absolutely no problem with that. It takes just a few taps and the music files from the watch to the Bluetooth headphones, with the same high quality. Even an active internet is not needed, because I can save the music in Spotify to the Galaxy Watch4’s memory. Samsung has also recently changed the Tizen system to Android, so I can also pay with my watch via Google Pay, use Google Maps navigation, Keep notes and of course download additional applications from the Play Store.

In a word: both in my smartphone and smartwatch I have what I need every day. In addition, in the SmartThings application, I can quickly locate a lost watch, headphones or SmartTag on my phone.

Bright 120Hz AMOLED display and convenient operation

  • technology: Dynamic AMOLED 2X 120 Hz
  • diagonal: 6.4 inches, flat with a 2.5D effect at the edges
  • resolution: 1080 x 2400 px (FHD +)
  • brightness: 1,200 cd / m2 (maximum when set to Auto)

The Galaxy S21 FE has a slightly smaller display than the Galaxy S20 FE (6.4 vs 6.5 inches). It has no negative impact on the use of multimedia. On the contrary, a slightly smaller diagonal, thinner frames around the display, and very gently rounded glass at the edges (the so-called 2.5D) translate into a more comfortable one-handed operation. Feel the improvement over the predecessor. In addition, a good Gorilla Glass 7 Victus glass was used here.

The display itself is also characterized by a very high brightness of up to 1200 cd / m2 in peak (in Auto mode). The Dynamic AMOLED 2X technology translates into good color quality, high contrast, and very deep blacks. This can be appreciated especially in the evening when the difference between AMOLED and LCD can be described as a gap.

Good for movies and games

Galaxy S21 FE has support for VP9 and AVC-High codecs and HDR10 + HEVC technology, which is useful when watching videos, also from streaming platforms (it improves the image effects in some movies). It also has two stereo speakers, so when you watch horizontally, you can enjoy a better audio experience. The speaker quality itself is just OK – neither outstanding nor poor. It is simple enough for multimedia and games. More important is that they play quite loud and reasonably clean. The FHD + resolution (1080 x 2400 px) gives a detail of 401 ppi, which is very good for movies, photos and internet browsing. Even small inscriptions and graphics are sharp and legible.

The 120 Hz refresh rate combined with very high efficiency ensures excellent image fluidity. Even 120 fps in games (more and more games already support such refreshing), as well as better readability of content, e.g. when scrolling websites. The Snapdragon 888 5G processor can handle displaying over 100 fps, even in new, advanced games. It couldn’t be otherwise, after all, this is the best processor currently found in Android phones.

There will also be a weaker side. The point is, the 120Hz refresh is not adaptive. We can set a constant 120 or 60 Hz and that’s it. This has some impact on the battery life, because the phone does not automatically reduce the refresh rate when displaying static images (eg to 48, 30, 24 Hz), but keeps 120 Hz all the time. This causes additional, unnecessary energy consumption. Well, well … Samsung offers more expensive, even better smartphones that have adaptive refresh, so in the cheaper S21 FE it could not pull all the aces out of its sleeve.

Fingerprint reader

The reader is placed quite low above the bottom bezel and at first I thought it would be inconvenient to use. I was wrong. The reader is easy to use. It is worth emphasizing, however, that the speed of finger recognition is average. Usually, I had to hold my finger for a second to get the phone unlocked the first time. A shorter hold may cause a reading error and the need to put your finger down again. It is not the fastest of the readers, but it will do.

Display always on

A well-known and liked function that replaces a simple notification LED and works well in AMOLED displays because they do not require backlighting with LEDs. In the Galaxy S21 FE, you can change the time layout and colors or download the AOD theme from the store (they are free and paid). In addition to the time, it also displays the date, day, battery percentage, notification icons, and music information, along with playback controls.

Waterproof and well made

  • dimensions: 155.7 x 74.5 x 7.9 mm
  • weight: 177 g
  • materials: GG7 glass (front), aluminum (sides), polycarbonate (back)
  • waterproof: IP68

Thinner bezels around a slightly smaller display and a thinner housing make the Galaxy S21 FE also lighter than the Galaxy S20 FE. Although both phones have batteries with the same capacity and the same IP68 water resistance (1.5 meters under water, for a maximum of 30 minutes). It should survive falling into a bathtub, fountain, or shallow lake water.

The front is GG7 glass, the side frames are metal (aluminum) and the back is made of plastic. It can be assumed that the plastic on the back is a defect in the phone for PLN 3500 to start and it is partially true. I wish there was glass here too, but …

Polycarbonate has better resistance to falls and impacts (it will not get cobwebs on it), and the matte surface makes it impossible to see light hair scratches on it. In other words, in some respects such material makes sense.

Charger, microSD and mini jack – no

The phone has a dual SIM tray, but no space for a microSD memory card. There is also no classic 3.5mm headphone output, or even a USB-C to mini jack adapter included. In this respect, the Samsung Galaxy A52 5G, which has a mini jack and a microSD slot, made a better impression.

The package includes a USB-C to USB-C cable for charging and data transmission, but the charger is no longer there. Pro-ecological action, or maybe simple savings with the effect of scale? What is your opinion on this?

What else?

There is NFC on board for contactless payments in stores, very fast Wi-Fi 6 (ax), modern 5G Sub6 / NSA / SA cellular connectivity, Bluetooth 5.0.

Battery life

The Galaxy S21 FE 5G works for less than 1.5 days on the battery. This time can be slightly extended by using a refreshing of 60 Hz and not using GPS navigation and taking few photos and videos. With the 120 Hz refresh enabled and with quite intensive use of the phone with a paired smartwatch, the battery lasts from morning to evening. In a word: the minimum plan is fulfilled, but there is a lack of full satisfaction.

The charging time obviously depends on the connected charger. The phone supports 25 W wired charging (with Power Delivery 3.0), as well as 15 W induction charging and 4.5 W reverse charging (i.e. we can charge our Galaxy Buds 2 headphones with the Galaxy S21 FE phone. over 60 W, of which Samsung accepted “only” the 25 W.

Battery charging time

  • up to 30% – 36 minutes
  • up to 50% – 1 hour and 3 minutes
  • up to 75% – 1 hour and 40 minutes
  • up to 100% – 2 hours and 18 minutes

In a word: if someone like me uses a non-Samsung charger (even with high power), the charging time can be long.

Speed of operation and efficiency

This is where the Galaxy S21 FE 5G has a chance to shine. In my opinion, it is one of the fastest smartphones on the market. It is equipped with the best mobile processor used in Android phones, i.e. Snapdragon 888 5G with the Adreno 660 graphics chip. Such a duo can handle virtually any application, game and movie.

The only element that some people will have reservations about is the RAM memory capacity. The Galaxy S21 FE is available in two versions: 6/128 GB and 8/256 GB – I definitely recommend the latter. 8 GB RAM gives the smartphone more respite when using several applications or multiple tabs in the web browser. A phone with 8 GB RAM is more “future-proof”. It will cope better with subsequent system updates. It will surely ensure more efficient operation for a long time.

System and functions

The system is the latest Android 12 with One UI 4.0 graphic overlay. The design and functionality are at a very good level, and good optimization with the Qualcomm processor means smooth, pleasant operation. In One UI 4.0, Samsung also introduced newer versions of some widgets, improved animations and added automatic color matching of system elements to the currently set wallpaper.

There is also an improved Privacy menu. We have a quick preview of how many applications use the camera, microphone, and location, and we can easily revoke the access of a given program to private information. In Android 12, you can also share an exact or approximate location.

In the system, you can display a side panel with shortcuts to useful tools, applications, contacts and shortcuts to functions.

The Galaxy S21 FE allows you to enable Dolby Atmos sound effects (including automatic adjustment to the content being played), as well as set a preset or manual equalizer.

Of course, you can connect the so-called SmartTags with this smartphone. These are small “tags” that allow you to find an item, without GPS or SIM. Simply put, such a SmartTag connects to newer Galaxy devices that will automatically send their location to the Samsung server. In this way, we can, for example, locate not only our keys, backpack or suitcase, but also the car (the tag can be hidden, for example, under the upholstery).

In addition, you can manage your own devices in the Samsung ecosystem in the Smart Things app.

Does the Galaxy S21 FE have a good camera?

  • basic: 12 Mpx, f / 1.8, 79 degrees, Dual Pixel AF, optical stabilization (OIS)
  • ultra wide angle: 12 Mpx, f / 2.2, 123 degrees
  • telephoto lens: 8 Mpx, f / 2.4, 32 degrees, 3x optical zoom, optical stabilization (OIS)
  • front: 32 Mpx, f / 2.2, 81 degrees, fixed focus
  • rear video: 4K UHD 60 fps, HDR10 +
  • video front: 4K UHD 60 fps

I rate the front camera very positively. Quality, in my opinion, is at the level of flagship smartphones. Both in normal and portrait modes. The second one, apart from a blurred background, also gives you access to color effects.

The video quality also deserves recognition. We can easily record 4K 60 fps from the front and back and switch between these cameras while recording in 4K60. The other two rear cameras provide 4K 30 fps recording (then switching between rear cameras is also activated).

Is it worth buying a Galaxy S21 FE 5G? Opinion

When asked if the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G is a good smartphone, I will answer: yes! Even very good! It is used fantastically. It works fast, it is modern, comfortable, waterproof, it has an excellent display and good cameras. But…

In addition, if someone does not need the highest possible performance, but still wants a modern, good and necessarily Samsung phone, the Galaxy A52 5G for PLN 1950 is much more profitable. It’s a lot of fun, works great, and 1500 PLN stays in your pocket.

There are also gestures in the system – e.g. raise to wake up, tap twice to wake up the display, cover the screen with your hand to mute (or flip the phone) or swipe the edge of your hand vertically from left to right to save a screenshot.

Xiaomi 12: Galaxy S22 alternative will not be cheap

Xiaomi 12 (Image source: Xiaomi)
Now that Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy S22 and is launching it soon, one wonders where the Xiaomi 12 is going. It was presented in China a few weeks ago. Now the first prices in euros for the Xiaomi 12 have appeared and it shows again that the top smartphones are not as cheap as you are used to from previous generations.

Xiaomi 12 costs up to 1,200 euros
Shortly after Christmas 2021, Xiaomi presented its new high-end smartphones Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro in China. Since then we have been waiting patiently for them While Xiaomi is still holding back on this point , the first prices in euros for the new smartphones are appearing . As a reminder, in China the Xiaomi 12 costs the equivalent of around 500 euros. Of course, it won’t be that cheap with us (source: MySmartPrice ).

The Xiaomi 12 should be available at a price of 800 euros or more . You should get the version with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB internal memory. If you want double the memory, you have to pay 900 euros. Xiaomi would charge twice as much as Samsung for the Galaxy S22 for doubling the memory at 100 euros. There, the upgrade costs only 50 euros.

The Xiaomi 12 Pro is even more expensive. There is 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage for a price of 1,000 euros . But there should also be a configuration with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. Up to 1,200 euros should then be required for this. With the Xiaomi 12X, the Chinese company wants to offer a cheaper alternative at prices starting at 600 euros. There is also a version with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. Doubling the internal memory again costs 100 euros.

Even the Xiaomi Mi 11 was not cheap. That’s why we did not expect the Xiaomi 12 to suddenly become a price-performance hit like we know it from the Xiaomi Mi 9. In the mid-range, the Chinese company offers incredibly good value for money, but the competition is now on the same level for top smartphones. We are curious to see whether the prices are right and how the smartphone performs compared to the Samsung Galaxy S22.

Galaxy devices not eligible to receive four generations of One UI upgrades are still supported with up to three generations of One UI upgrades.

Samsung makes turbo mode for Android phones even better

Some time ago, Samsung introduced a new feature for its Galaxy smartphones, which ideally can improve performance in certain situations. With the introduction of One UI 4.1, this turbo mode has been further improved and allows more setting options.

Samsung smartphones: Virtual RAM up to 8 GB
Many Chinese manufacturers started installing virtual memory in their smartphones some time ago. The normal memory is made available as main memory. Samsung jumped on the bandwagon a little later, but didn’t allow any setting options. This is how 4 GB of internal memory was always converted into working memory. This is not ideal for smartphones with little memory. That changes with One UI 4.1, which Samsung is introducing with the Galaxy S22 smartphones and Galaxy Tab S8 tablets (source: SamMobile ).

Those who install the latest software version on their smartphone can then choose from four options. Instead of a fixed 4 GB, you can then choose from 2, 4, 6 and 8 GB of memory , which is converted into working memory. If you have problems with performance in certain situations, this could be the solution. Older devices in particular, where RAM is limited, could particularly benefit from this. But such a feature is also useful for the future, because you can create some breathing room at the utilization limit of the main memory.

Currently, the feature is only available on the new Samsung devices that have just been launched. Over time, however, Samsung will of course distribute One UI 4.1 based on Android 12 for most smartphones and tablets . Then at the latest you will be able to decide individually how to distribute the resources.

In fact, we already knew the appearance and data of all models long before the premiere.

Samsung today unveiled the Galaxy S22 family of flagship smartphones . It includes three models – two very similar Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 + and a completely different, top model Galaxy S22 Ultra . Let’s take a look at new devices and their prices.

Samsung Galaxy S22
Samsung Galaxy S22 is equipped with a Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, with a diagonal of 6.1 inches, a resolution of 2340×1080 px, an image refresh rate adjustable in the range of 10-120 Hz and a touch panel refresh of 240 Hz.

The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus and our eyes are protected by artificial intelligence, ensuring our comfort and limiting the emission of harmful light bands. An ultrasonic fingerprint reader is installed under the screen, and even deeper – the Exynos 2200 processor , although in many regions of the world this smartphone is equipped with the competitive Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip .

The processor is supported by 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB internal memory, which, unfortunately, cannot be enlarged. Smartphone isequipped with NFC, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 or 5G modules.

The main camera has a 50 megapixel matrix, f / 1.8 aperture and OIS Optical Image Stabilization. Next to it we find a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera with f / 2.2 aperture and a field of view of 120 degrees, as well as a 10-megapixel camera with a telephoto lens with 3x zoom, Optical Image Stabilization and f / 2.4 aperture. The set is completed by a 10-megapixel selfie camera with f / 2.2 aperture. All this is powered by a 3700 mAh battery with 25 W fast charging and 15 W wireless charging and reverse charging. The housing with dimensions of 146×70.6×7.6 mm can boast an IP68 tightness certificate, and the entire phone weighs 168 g.

Samsung Galaxy S22 +
The Samsung Galaxy S22 + is very similar – but larger and with a few additional modifications. First of all, the Plus model has a larger screen – 6.6-inch – but invariably it is a Dynamic AMOLED 2X matrix with FHD + resolution and refreshment from 10 to 120 Hz.

The battery has increased to 4500 mAh, and the power of wired charging – to 45 W. The wireless module has also been slightly changed, supporting the WiFi 6E standard and UWB connectivity. The dimensions of the Galaxy S22 + are 157.4 x 75.8 x 7.64 mm, and the weight – 196 g.

Both models work under the control of the Android 12 operating system with the OneUI 4.1 interface. Unfortunately, the kits only include a needle to open the card slot and a USB cable – you have to take care of the chargers yourself. Smartphones are available in four color versions.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is the best equipped and most original model in the new series. It is to be the successor to the iconic Galaxy Note series, so it received support for the S Pen stylus with a slot for its storage and a distinct styling different from the other two models. It is also the largest model in the new family: it has a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with QHD + resolution. The refresh rate is adjustable from 1-120 Hz and the touch is sampled invariably up to 240 Hz.

The processor is the same as in the other two models, but we have a choice of more memory variants – 8 + 128, 12 + 256, 12 + 512 GB as well as 12 GB + 1 TB – although not all of them will go to the Polish market. The power supply is provided by a 5000 mAh battery, wired charging with a power of 45 W and wireless charging with 15 W, with the option of recharging.

The Galaxy S22 Ultra has a set of cameras different from the other two models. Selfie is provided by a camera with a 40 megapixel matrix and f / 2.2 aperture, while the main camera is played by a 108 megapixel matrix, with OIS and f / 1.8 aperture.

The wide-angle camera has a 12 Mpx matrix and f / 2.2 aperture and a field of view of 120 degrees, and the set is crowned with two 10-megapixel cameras with telephoto lenses and OIS stabilization. The first one has a classic 3x lens with f / 2.4 aperture, while the second one has a periscope approx. 10x with f / 4.9 aperture. Like the other two, The wide-angle camera has a 12 Mpx matrix and f / 2.2 aperture and a field of view of 120 degrees, and the set is crowned with two 10-megapixel cameras with telephoto lenses and OIS stabilization. The first one has a classic 3x lens with f / 2.4 aperture, while the second one has a periscope approx. 10x with f / 4.9 aperture. Like the other two,This smartphone has an IP68 tightness certificate, and its dimensions are 163.3×77.9×8.9 mm with a weight of 229 g.

Samsung will probably unveil three smartphones tomorrow:

The regular Galaxy S22 will be flanked by the Galaxy S22 Plus and Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Only one day separates us from the presentation of the Galaxy S22: As expected, Samsung will present the new smartphone series on February 9th, which will probably again contain a slightly larger Plus version and an Ultra version in addition to the standard model. But which of the three Samsung smartphones is the most interesting?

Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus generates the least interest

SellCell now provides an answer to this question. In a survey, the US sales platform asked almost 11,000 of its own users about the new Galaxy S22 series (source: SellCell ). 20 percent of those surveyed stated that they wanted to switch to Samsung’s new flagship smartphones – an impressive figure that proves that enthusiasm for the successors to the Galaxy S21 series is quite high, at least in advance.

Of those willing to change, 44.4 percent stated that they wanted to buy the Galaxy S22 Ultra. At least 30.1 percent would like to switch to the Galaxy S22, while the Galaxy S22 Plus comes in third place with 25.5 percent.

Galaxy S22 Plus lacks selling proposition

These numbers should give Samsung food for thought. Of course, the survey is not representative, but it could be an indication of how the respective models are perceived by the public. The Galaxy S22 Plus, at least it seems, lacks a real USP, a unique selling point .

If you want the best of the best, grab the Galaxy S22 Ultra. On the other hand, if you want to save some money and prefer a compact smartphone, you should probably take the Galaxy S22. From what is known so far, the Galaxy S22 Plus is neither fish nor meat.

It could become the unloved stepchild of Samsung’s new trio of smartphones.
