Asif Ali Zardari claims that his party won despite massive election rigging effort by the pro-Musharraf allies. He writes in his article published in the Chicago Tribune:
“Despite massive pre-election and election-day rigging, the people of Pakistan voted their confidence in democracy and rejected the forces of dictatorship.”
He asserts that people of Pakistan rejected the forces of dictatorship because they want democracy in Pakistan.
Mr. Zardari is making a wrong claim that people of Pakistan voted their candidates because they love democracy. People voted their candidates because of their ethnic and tribal affiliations. Their ethnic and tribal affiliations clouded their judgment and they voted for PPP and PML-N whom they have tried twice.
As far fakes votes are concerned they are cast by every party in their strong holds in Pakistan.
