Government has transferred fund reserved for Diamer-Bhasha Dam project to Peoples Works Programme

The Express Tribune reported that the government is using funds allocated for special key schemes to lure voters. This money is being used by Prime Minister to attract voters in different constituencies.

It gave me a shocked when I read the report that government slashed the funds allocated for special projects like Diamer-Bhasha Dam project and transferred them to use in Peoples Works Programme-II (PWP-II).

The Planning Commission has cut 16% fund reserved for the Dam. The National Economic Council had approved Rs.6.3 billion for the dam.  It has been reduced to Rs.5.3 billion after transfer of fund.
