Pakistan government announces National Energy Efficiency and Conservation Plan to tackle energy crisis

As Pakistan faces a devastating economic and energy crisis, the Shehbaz Sharif government announces a number of initiatives to reduce energy costs and reliance on imported oil. “The South Asian country unveiled a new energy-saving strategy on Tuesday as its fragile economy continues to face numerous difficulties.” According to a tweet from the ruling party, the government has ordered that all markets close at 8.30 p.m. and all restaurants close at 10. According to the post, these actions will enable Pakistan to save 62 billion Pakistani rupees ($274 million).”
