Rate of Stroke Rising Among Young people

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has released a report, which says young people aged between 15-55 are dying of strokes. What is disturbing to know that rate of stroke is increasing at an alarming rate in the young.

CDS compared the health data between 1995 and 2008. On this basis of this comparison, it says stroke has increased by 30%. Most of these people died of high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes. These health problem is often caused by obesity.

American Heart Association says that stroke has become  the third leading cause of death in the United States.

Dr. Mary George of the CDC’s Division for Heart Disease & Stroke Prevention she was shocked to see the trend of stroke in the young.  She lamented that we are paying attention to controlling risks in older adults, while we have ignored the young.
