Increase in the protein called prostasin can increase the risk of cancer and diabetes.

Sweden: A study has proved that certain types of protein in the body can also cause diseases and life-threatening diseases. In this regard, Swedish scientists have studied 4,000 people for 22 consecutive years and have found that people who have high levels of protein prostasin have a 76 percent increased rate of diabetes and a 43 percent increased rate of cancer or the tendency to die from it.

Experts have previously reported that prostasin are found in epithelial cells of the body’s skin and thus increase the risk of diabetes. Now if diabetes and prostasin increase, then the risk of dying from cancer also increases.

Although experts have also examined age, gender, obesity, eating habits and other factors, they have only said that high amounts of prostasin protein can be very harmful. The study, which began in Sweden in 1993, was carried out by experts from The University of Lyond.

In this way, a new cause of diabetes and cancer has emerged. Professor Gunnar Angstroim, who is involved in the research, says that by considering proteins from the research, we will be able to understand and treat cancer and diabetes more.

On the other hand, there has also been a link between diabetes and many types of cancer, such as bowel cancer and breast cancer. Diabetes can also double the risk of pancreatic and liver cancer and this relationship remains to be considered further.
