Causes of dental fillings falling out and prevention

Lost fillings are a frequent cause of dental visits. There are numerous potential causes, including ageing, poor dental hygiene, teeth rubbing, and biting firm or sticky substances. When a filling falls out, you should see a dentist immediately because a tooth without a filling is susceptible to damage from bacteria and irritants.

A filling is a dental restorative that is used to restore a damaged tooth. Its purpose is to protect the tooth tissues from infection, difficult-to-remove food residues, the effects of cold or heat on sensitive tissues, and the aesthetic appearance of a carious tooth. It is important to remember that no seal lasts eternally and that all seals eventually fail.
