According to the results presented at the conference, the use of a device to treat common lung cancer with electric rays by the pharmaceutical company Narukevar also benefited late-stage patients significantly.
The results claimed that using the device along with other cancer drugs extended the life of some patients by up to eight months and their death from cancer was delayed.
According to the results, 276 volunteers were recruited for the trial, all of whom were patients with the last stage of lung cancer and were not affected by other drugs.
The experts divided all the volunteers into two groups and gave conventional chemotherapy and other medicines to one group, while the members of the other group were also given electric rays with a new device along with chemotherapy.
The volunteers were studied for a year, after which the results were seen and it was found that electric rays along with chemotherapy helped prevent lung cancer.
According to experts, the results of the trial are encouraging and now in the second phase, the device will be tested differently on more patients.
At the same time, the company said that in addition to lung cancer, the device has also been tested on three other cancer types, including cervical, pancreatic and brain cancer, but it can take up to a year to collect their results.
